A dance for life in aid of CliniClowns with a star-studded cast – the ball is completely sold out!

In just a few days, the 74th Vienna Medical Doctors' Ball will once again open its doors in the magnificent Hofburg Vienna. The traditional event will take place for the 74th time on Saturday, January 31, 2026, and is once again one of the undisputed highlights of the Viennese ball season. The ball is already completely sold out, impressively underlining its position as a fixed star in the Viennese ball calendar.
With around 4,000 guests, the 74th Vienna Medical Doctors' Ball promises a glamorous night in a unique atmosphere. Guests of honor include renowned figures from politics, science, and society, including State Secretary Alexander Pröll, Katharina Reich, Director General for Public Health at the Ministry of Health, Clemens Martin Auer, President of the European Health Forum Gastein, Barbara Novak, Member of the Vienna Provincial Parliament, Vienna City Councilor for Health Peter Hacker, and Ingrid Korosec, President of the Austrian Seniors' Association.

Former top politicians such as former Health Minister Andrea Kdolsky, and Othmar Karas, former Vice-President of the European Parliament, have also confirmed their attendance. The Doctors' Ball thus combines tradition and zeitgeist in its guest list.

The charity ball of the Viennese ball season: dancing for the CliniClowns

The net proceeds from this year's ball will go to CliniClowns, which will celebrate its 35th anniversary in 2026. As pioneers of humor therapy, CliniClowns Austria has been visiting seriously ill children and adults since 1991, providing welcome rays of hope to all family members involved during challenging times.

The 74th Vienna Medical Doctors' Ball has rarely been as colorful, cheerful, and varied as it is this year: more music and show performances than ever before, as well as an imaginative supporting program, transport ball guests into the enchanting world of CliniClowns, inspired by the magic of the circus, right from the festive opening.

A circus of joie de vivre for a good cause

Another highlight is the midnight interlude in the ballroom. Under the title “Circus of Joy,” music, acrobatics, and circus arts merge into a rousing show featuring renowned singer Monika Ballwein, award-winning artist Maria Gschwandtner, and Alexander Schneller, circus director with heart and humor from the traditional Circus Pikard.

Numerous donation opportunities directly at the ball also invite guests to do good: at the popular charity casino, ball guests can try their luck while supporting the work of CliniClowns. Culinary highlights such as fresh popcorn from Kelly's, ice cream from Bortolotti, and fine wines from Wein & Co. ensure enjoyable moments in exchange for a donation. All bars also offer their own CliniClown drinks, including the Campari Spritz, with proceeds going to the CliniClowns.

Happy memories with a surprise effect

Throughout the ball, the CliniClowns will be providing amazement and laughter—for example, with their “romance repair service” developed especially for the ball, when Dr. Ernst Ernst surprises guests with spontaneous, personal serenades, or fortune teller Madame Esmeralda offers a glimpse into the future in the Maria Theresa Apartment II until midnight in exchange for a donation.

Happy memories are also created in the photo studio, where ball guests can have professional photos taken with their loved ones or together with a CliniClown. Photo sessions with the CliniClowns take place from 8:15 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. and from 10:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. The proceeds from the purchase of the photos will go to the CliniClowns.

The Vienna Medical Doctors' Ball 2026 promises to be a glittering ball night where laughter reigns, music sets the tone, and solidarity takes center stage.
The Vienna Medical Association and the Ball Committee look forward to seeing you there!
